This is the main living area as it
appeared when I first purchased the house. Lovely dark brown motif
and drapery huh? |
 |
|
Here's a blurry picture of the
fireplace flanked by yet more lovely dark brown paneling. What where
they thinking in the 60's anyway? |
|

|
Though difficult to make out in
this picture, I'm scraping all the popcorn off of the ceiling. |
|

|
Here I've begun the stud and
drywall phase. I've run cable through the attic and installed
electrical boxes for my sconce lights. I'm also scribing and cutting
the drywall to fit the stone of the fireplace. |

Here's a ghostly shot of the
drywall up and the joints taped. Ready to prime and paint. |
 |
|
Another shot prior to prime and
paint. You can see the new window installed here as well. And
my makeshift curtain/tarp on two boards for covering the window at night. |
 |
|
Here's a shot of the finished walls,
ceiling
and new sconce lights. Went for an "accent" wall. I was living
in this room for a time while I remodeled the back bedrooms, hence the bed
and mess. |

Another "before" picture.
This time the dining room. |
 |
|
Here you'll see the new window
along with drywall for the dining room. |

This is a little contraption I
built to hold the front and back door while I sprayed them. Worked
pretty well actually. |
