| I've set up a series
of pictures here to show the steps I took to frame in the rough opening in
preparation for the garage door. Many thanks to Bob for his
expertise in explaining the framing process to me over the phone.
The garage door guy was most impressed. |

Here's the 10'x10' behemoth that
came with the garage. Hadn't worked in years. It was basically
serving as a false wall before I ripped it down. |

Out with the old - time to frame
in the new. |

Inside view of the frame job,
sheathing and 2x6 nailers for the garage door hardware.. |

Outside view after framing and

Trimmed out and caulked - ready
for paint. I added the 1x4 detail pieces because my one 4x8 sheet of
beadboard wouldn't have covered otherwise. Little Roxy strutting her stuff. |

Primed, painted and awaiting
garage door installation. Turns out the detail pieces give it a
little character. |

8'x8' door was installed. |
