| There are 5 total drawers that I needed to
build. Here they are in varying degrees of completion. I used
1/2 inch 9-ply plywood for the boxes and 1/4 inch medite for the bottoms. |
 |
| Here they are stacked up next to my router
table. I used pocket screws to attach the front panel. It's
ugly looking but I'll cover it up with the actual drawer front once I make
them. |
 |
| Here they are hanging from a temporary
outside spray booth I set up. I gave them two coats of spray
polyurethane. |
 |
| Here I'm showing how the bottom panel is
slipped into dado's I cut into the sides. You can also see that I
attached a steel rod to the bottoms of the wider drawers. This will
give them extra strength and keep the bottoms from sagging over time.
The slide hardware is also visible. |
 |
| I wanted to show both a front and rear
view of the drawers. I gave the fronts a 1/4 inch bead profile with
my cove bit. |
 |
| Here's a close-up of how I installed
the drawer front to the box and also the drawer pulls. |
 |
| The drawers were incredibly easy to
make and install. I did them all over a weekend from start to
finish. |
